Tap to Pay for iPhone is available via Mighty's POS (card reader) app! This innovative feature makes it faster and easier than ever before to accept card payments from your customers using just your own mobile device. With just a tap, they can check out quickly and securely.
What is the Tap to Pay feature?
The Tap to Pay feature allows you to accept contactless payments from your customers using your iPhone. This feature is designed to empower you to easily accept card payments in person without needing a card reader. With a simple tap above your iPhone, your clients can make a payment.
How does Tap to Pay work?
Once you've completed signing up for Mighty and your payment account has been confirmed by Stripe, you will be prompted to enable Tap to Pay for iPhone as a method for securely collecting customer payments.
Once it's enabled, you'll be able to select Tap to Pay as the payment method during checkout — and your clients can then present their contactless card or directly with their digital wallet (on their smartphone or smartwatch). A new screen will open showing them where to hold their card or smart device to complete the transaction.
This payment method is 100% safe and encrypted with Apple's industry-leading security. If they encounter an error or decide they don't want to use Tap to Pay, you can always go back to select another option.
If you don't enable it during your account setup, you can always turn on Tap to Pay later from your account Settings, by pressing the Tap to Pay option under the Payment Methods section. You will be prompted to accept the terms and conditions, and after accepting will be able to use the feature. Alternatively, if you press Tap to Pay during checkout without having enabled the feature previously, you'll be prompted to turn it on at that moment (it may take a minute or two to install).
Note that if you delete the Mighty POS app from your device, you may need to re-enable Tap to Pay (following the exact same steps as before).
Who can use Tap to Pay for iPhone?
This payment method is available to Mighty users in the US, CA, UK, AU and NZ who are using an iPhone XS/XR/11 or newer device running iOS version 16.4 or higher.
